Ray Jones

Ray Jones, 88, of Cumming passed away Monday, August 10, 2020.

Born December 25, 1931, in Fannin County to the late George “Banks” and Effie Jones, he lived a number of years in Florida.  He had lived in Forsyth County for the past 3 years having moved from Lumpkin County.  Ray was a retired automobile mechanic and had worked for General Motors Dealerships in Florida and Georgia and was a U. S. Army veteran.  He loved gospel music and was an avid Bible reader.  He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lorene Postell, Ezelle Davenport; and brothers, Marvin Jones and Jimmy Jones.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Darlene Jones, Cumming; son and daughter in law, Danny and Christina Jones, Cumming; grandson, Gregory Jones, Boston, MA; sisters and brothers in law, Kathleen Dilbeck, Blue Ridge, Shelby and Bill Patterson, Blue Ridge, Bettye and Bobby Chastain, Rockmart; brothers and sisters in law, George and Viola Jones, Maryville, TN, Emon and Jean Jones, Acworth, Johnny and Ann Jones, Cartersville; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at 11 o’clock at Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.  Larry Riddle and Tim Lovelace will officiate.
