Jewell Austin Skinner

Obituary Date: Friday, August 14, 2020

Mr. Jewell Austin Skinner age 80 of Gainesville, Ga passed away on Friday August 14, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday August 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Lamar Purcell and Reverend Todd Skinner will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday August 15, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Sunday August 16, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jewell was born on November 15, 1939 in Gainesville, Ga to the late Lee Clayton Skinner and Claudine Mary Elliott Skinner. He retired as a USDA Poultry inspector. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bonnie Mason Skinner, brother, Aubrey Skinner, and grand-child, Amanda Scott.

Mr. Skinner is survived by his son and daughter –in-law, Dennis and Renee Scott of Braselton, Ga, daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and John Tingle of Forsyth, Ga, daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Keith Herring of Myrtle Beach, SC, daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Keith Gibson of Waverly Hall, Ga,  7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brothers, Winfred Skinner, Wendell Skinner (Dianne), David Skinner, sisters, Frances Woody, Sarah Loggins, Betty Bennett (Buzzy), Hazel Dover (Raymond), and Joan Woodruff (Melvin).
