Masteen Bearden

Masteen Bearden, 88, of Dahlonega passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Born October 28, 1931, Masteen had been a resident of Lumpkin County for most of his life.  He worked as a builder for many years and was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather.  Masteen was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Maude Bearden; daughter, Sharon Knight; brother, Jay Bearden; sisters, Audrey Morris, Estelle Parks.

Surviving are his wife of more than 60 years, Murrell Bearden, Dahlonega; daughters and sons in law, Nell and Terrell Holtzclaw, Pat Brackett, Charlotte and Melvin Bryant, Nancy and Russ Cochran, all of Dahlonega; son and daughter in law, Ray and Nell Bearden, Dahlonega; son in law, Jack Knight, Dahlonega; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday August 20, 2020 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.
