Janet Smallwood Wiley

Mrs. Janet Smallwood Wiley, age 90, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Monday, October 05, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Dewberry Baptist Church No. 2. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday, October 9, 2020 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wiley was born September 24, 1930 in Gainesville, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Era Helton Smallwood.

She was a lifelong member of Riverbend Baptist Church. Janet was an avid gardner of flowers and always had a large vegetable garden. Mrs. Wiley was preceded in death by her husband, George Harold Wiley; son, Michael Harold Wiley; brothers, T.J. Smallwood, Charles Smallwood, John Smallwood and Howell Smallwood; sisters, Texie Mae Clark and Jessie Smallwood.

She is survived by her son Wayne Wiley, Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Jan Wiley Gilbert and James; and Sandi Wiley Walker and Scott also of Gainesville; grandchildren, Steven Wiley, Kristopher Gilbert, Alex Walker, Tyler Wiley, Tara Hobbs, Stephanie Edmondson and Tina Kelley; sister, Nell Brookshire; brother, Horace Smallwood; sister and brother-in-law, Almeda and Bill Allison and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
