Corene Stephens Owens

Corene Stephens Owens, 84, of Gainesville passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Mrs Corene Stephens Owens was born on March 9, 1936 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas (Lillian) Stephens in Jackson Co. She was married to the late Jimmy E. Owens Sr. for 54 years. She peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. 

She joined Antioch Baptist Church at an early age, then attended Mt. Calvary. She was employed by Swift for a number of years, then went into Housekeeping for over 25 years before she retired. After retirement she took care of her grandchildren. 

The visitation will be held Sunday October 11, 2020 at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 12-8pm. Celebration of life will be held Monday October 12, 2020 at Alta Vista Cemetery at 12 noon. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
