Rev. Leonard Jackson Bryson

Rev. Leonard Jackson Bryson, age 79, of Brunswick, Georgia, formerly of Toccoa, passed away peacefully Monday, October 19, 2020 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Georgia.

The son of the late Lease and Lena Bryson, he was born on May 25, 1941 in Cullasaja, North Carolina having lived for most of his life in Toccoa, Georgia.  Jack was called into the ministry as a teenager and over the next sixty years, he served the Lord as a Bible Study Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Music Minister, Outreach Ministry, Youth Minister, Associate Pastor, and Senior Pastor at Forest Hills Assembly of God, Bethel Temple Assembly of God, and Faith Memorial Assembly of God.

Jack was married to the love of his life, Wanda, on May 25, 1968, where they served together in ministry for 39 years.  She proceeded him in death in November 5, 2007.  In addition to his parents and wife, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Shook of Toccoa, Georgia.  

Survivors include his three children and sons-in-law, Lisa and David Carpenter, Laina and Jeff Dodgen, and Jon Bryson all of Brunswick, Georgia, formerly of Toccoa, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Morgan Bryson, Aaron Bryson, Madeline Carpenter, Jackson Dodgen, Grant Bryson, Bryson Dodgen, Caroline Dodgen, and Brooklyn Bryson.  He is also survived by his brother, Lyndon Bryson of Franklin, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Jack’s life will begin with the viewing at 10 o'clock on Saturday, October 24 at Faith Memorial, followed by the service at 11 o’clock at Faith Memorial Assembly of God, 184 Rothell Road Ext, Toccoa, Georgia with The Reverend Bobbie Jean Merck officiating.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Rev. Jack Bryson.
