Betty Sue Dean Grindle

Obituary Date: Saturday, November 14, 2020

Mrs. Betty Sue Dean Grindle, 87, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Grindle, Rev. James Campbell and Rev. Bo Grindle will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on February 23, 1933 in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Sue Jackson Dean.  She grew up on Riverside Dr. in Gainesville, worked at Gainesville Mfg. for 27 years and then worked in the Hall County School System for 17 years.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great granny and great-great granny, sister, aunt, and friend who loved the Lord. She had six children but raised 10. If anyone came to her door hungry or needing a place to stay she never turned them away. We cannot count how many people passed through that house. She did her very best to follow the Lord.

She loved her red lipstick and yes all the grandchildren got their share when they went to visit. She will be greatly missed but we have all been blessed by her life. God is so GOOD! I know she is rejoicing with her Savior, her husband of 70 years and her 2 grandchildren who have gone ahead of her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grindle is preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Grindle; granddaughter, Angel Grindle; grandson, Neil Grindle; sisters, Jimmie Lou Dean Little, Dorothy Lee Dean and brother, Jack Curtis Dean.

Mrs. Grindle is survived by her daughters, Tommie Miller (Roy) of Gainesville, Barbara Campbell (James) of Lula; sons, Larry Grindle (Marlene) of Oakwood, Butch Grindle (Marsha) of Cleveland, Terry Grindle (Judy) of Gainesville, Ken Grindle (Tracy) of Gainesville; sisters, Pat Chambers, Linda Porter (Hoyt), Alice Dean; brothers, Johnny Dean (Rose); sister in law, Reba Young; 23 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
