Barbara Elaine Tanner

Ms. Barbara Elaine Tanner was born in Gainesville, Ga on March 18,1952 to the late Joe and Gemaine Tanner. She departed this life on Friday November 13, 2020 after an extended illness. She is preceded in death by her five brothers: Melvin Joe Tanner, Billy Ray Tanner, Jerry Tanner, Michael Tanner and John Tanner. 

She was kind-hearted, caring, and loving woman. She loved to cook especially holidays meals for her family. She loved all her grandchildren and took great care of them. She loved watching the Hallmark Channel, doing word puzzles, playing solitaire and all types of music. She treated everyone like family and loved helping people. 

Barbara leaves to cherish three daughters, Sandra Tanner of Gainesville Ga, Natasha & Leroy Ervin of Gainesville, Ga, Keasha Tanner of Gainesville, Ga and one son, Jermaine Sharif Tanner; Sisters Linda & Bobby Harrison of Gainesville, Ga, Ruth Harris of Winder, Ga; Aunt Bernice Austin of Gainesville, Ga, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special Cousins Mary Johnson, Teresa Hester, Lizzie Bell Jones all of Gainesville, Ga and Special friend Sandra Neal of Gainesville, Ga. 

The visitation for Ms. Tanner will be Friday November 20, 2020 at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 12-8pm. Ms. Tanner's Celebration of Life will be Saturday November 21, 2020 at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery at 1pm. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
