Kevin Michael Hurst

Kevin Michael Hurst, age 64, of Buford, GA passed away Friday, December 4, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Wayne Hurst and stepson, Jason Ryan Whorton. He is survived by his wife of three years, Theresa Hurst, Buford, GA; mother, Janie Nix Hurst, Buford, GA; brothers, Kenny (Christine) Hurst, Newborn, GA, David (Marife) Hurst, St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Karen (Chris) Harris, Hayesville, NC; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Sarah Poore, Savannah, GA; sisters-in-laws, Pam Poore, New Port Richey, FL, Kimberly (Chuck) Holmes, Savannah, GA; brothers-in-law, James (Elieen) Poore, Lakeland, FL, Bill (Robyn) Poore, Garden City, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Hurst was born January 18, 1956 in Memphis, TN. He was a 1974 graduate from Henderson High School in Chamblee, GA and a 1979 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s Degree. He was an engineer with Pye Barker Company for ten years. He loved boating at Lake Burton, the mountains and hunting. He loved to tinker with different items, such as restoring electronics and was a ham radio operator and an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 2:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Stateroom of Flanigan Funeral Home.  A Reception will be held immediately following the Service at the Hurst Home located at

1810 Brickton Station, Buford, GA  30518.
