Dorothy Nell Sherriff Tyree

Mrs. Dorothy Nell Sherriff Tyree, 90, of Gainesville passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. John Latty and Rev. Raymond Latty will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Born on July 5, 1930 in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late William Eugene and Blanch Arbell Grindle Sherriff. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tyree is preceded in death by her husband, John Carl Tyree; son, Lamar Walden; daughter, Brenda Hayes; brother, Fletcher and sisters, Roma and Thelma.

Mrs. Tyree is survived by her daughter and son in law, Sophia and Michael Nichols; daughter in law, Shirley Walden; sister, Gennie Ray and a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other relatives.

At the request of Mrs. Tyree in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Calvary Baptist Church, 1370 Calvary Church Rd. Gainesville, GA 30507.

Due to Covid-19, the family requests that everyone attending the visitation and service wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
