Shirley Puckett Ledford

Shirley Puckett Ledford, age 73, of Buford, GA, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020.  Shirley is survived by her husband of 55 years, James, her daughter, Kim and Todd Medley, their children, Briana Burrell and Logan Medley, her son, Shaun Ledford, her siste,r Betty Puckett, her sister-in-law, Betty Pendley and Martha Puckett.  She also has numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Shirley reached a vast scope of communities and their citizens.  She was born in Buford, GA in 1947.  Shirley graduated in 1965 at Buford High School.  After graduation, she worked for an insurance company, Sears and Roebuck, and Micromeritics.  After the birth of Shaun, she began working for doctor’s offices in Buford and Flowery Branch.  After her retirement from that, Shirley began to touch the lives of numerous families by babysitting children.  She always considered them part of her family.  She enriched their lives and spoiled them tremendously.  There is truly an empty spot in their hearts without her.  Recently she helped Kim with the administration of the high school college entrance tests.  Shirley even touched the lives of many of the people who worked with Kim.  She was an active member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church of Buford, GA.  This was where she loved constantly helping others and doint whatever was need without being asked.  She had beauty, strength and kindness.  Shirley will be greatly missed.  A Memorial Service will be held, Friday, December 18, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Parker officiating.  The family will Receive Friends on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers make donations to Shoal Creek Baptist Church, c/o Steve Martin, 3565 Thompson Mill Rd., Buford, GA, 30519 in memory of Shirley Ledford.
