Susie Mayes Odell

Susie Mayes Odell, age 105, of Gainesville passed away on Monday December 14, 2020, at New Horizons where she had been living for 3 months.

Mrs. Odell was born on August 16, 1915 in Lula, Ga. She held a long list of jobs in her life. She reminisced a lot about her years as a Girl Scout Leader and being a Kindergarten teacher from which she retired at the age of 70. She helped in care giving to her sister Sarah Partain, after she passed she spent 15 years living in Chicopee Village as a companion to her sister Kathleen Hayes. Susie was also preceded in death by her husband Horace Odell and a daughter Johnnie Sue.

Mrs. Odell is survived by nephews, James and Bernadette Hayes of Alpharetta, and Danny and Dorothy Partain of Atlanta.

Services will be Friday December 18 at Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Viewing will be at 2:00 and service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00. Mike Pinson, Pastor of Chicopee United Methodist Church, where Susie was a member, will conduct the service. Internment will be at Alta Vista.
