Harry Kenneth Clark, Sr.

Obituary Date: Thursday, December 17, 2020

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 at  2:00  PM for H. Kenneth Clark at Union Baptist Church 5115 Union Church Road Flowery Branch, GA 30542. The Rev. Bart McMillan will officiate, with interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 20 at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel 3481 Hamilton Mill Rd. NE Buford, GA 30519. Please observe all safety precautions including wearing mask and social distancing.

Mr. Clark was born October 17, 1933 in Hall County to the late Claud Clark and Euzella Braselton Clark. He passed away Thursday, December 17 at his home following an extended illness. Kenneth served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Salem the flagship of the 6th Fleet in the 50s. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 42 years total service. He was the rural mail carrier for Route 9 Gainesville for many of those years. Kenneth was a lifelong member and deacon emeritus at Union Baptist Church. He had a tremendous love for his church and participated in all its activities until his health prevented it. Kenneth was well respected in his family, his profession, his church and his community. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Others often commented that Kenneth was an especially easy-going and friendly man. He and Jenneter loved nothing more than playing host to others whether at their pool in the summer or having people over to play ‘Rook’ in the winter. They often hosted celebrations on holidays, and birthdays. Kenneth loved these gatherings. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV and rooted for the Atlanta Braves and Falcons.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jenneter Jones Clark and by his precious daughter Lynn Clark Kelly. Other family preceding Kenneth in death were sisters Helen Clark Gilleland and Mary Clark Turk. Four brothers, Bronson Clark, Harland Clark, Ray Clark and J.W. Clark also preceded him.

Those surviving Kenneth include son and his wife Harry and Gerri Clark, daughter and husband Lisa and Eddie Pierce, son-in-law Fred Kelly, special granddaughter and care-giver Megan Milton and husband Todd Milton.  Also surviving are his grandchildren Patrick Kelly of Gainesville, Adam and wife Hailen Clark soon to be from Flowery Branch, McCree Simmons of Gainesville, Ben and wife Arielle Clark of Hedgesville, WV, Conner Clark and fiancé Bekah Rude of Flowery Branch. Great grandchildren surviving are Grayson and Keeley Simmons, Jase, Raegan, and Charlie Clark, Skyler, Brady, and Jaxson Milton. Also surviving are sister, Larue Clark Crowe and brother and his wife Curtis and Virginia Clark all of Flowery Branch. Brothers-in law Garrett Reed, and Jimmy Jones and wife Ramona , sister-in-law Barbara Jones Davis and husband Bobby also survive. Many nieces and nephews on both the Clark and Jones side of his extended family survive Kenneth and will greatly miss him.

Kenneth was blessed to have Karen McKee as his caregiver during his illness and the family is so thankful for her service.
