Cynthia 'Cindy' Powell

Mrs. Cynthia "Cindy" Powell, age 62 of Dahlonega passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020.

Cindy was born in Hall County on November 28, 1958 to the late Bruce and Jewell Dillard Stringer. She was a graduate of Lumpkin County High School class of 1976. Cindy retired as a food inspector for NFDA after many years of faithful service. 

Although small in stature, Cindy had a heart bigger than life.  Along with her loving heart came her beautiful voice, one that always amazed those who loved to hear her sing “The King is Coming” or another favorite “He Touched Me”. Cindy was a charter member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.  She along with her husband Reggie served in so many ways at the church. Probably the most notable was their time as youth directors, giving so much time to the kids they claimed as their own.  Keeping them in line but ensuring they had fun and learned to love Jesus was Cindy’s priority. She was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.  “Little Cindy” will always be big in our hearts.  

Survivors include her husband of 35 years Reggie Powell of Dahlonega; sons and daughters-in-law Travis and Katie Powell of Winter Park, CO, and Josh and Andrea Powell of Rome; daughter Katie Snow of Savannah; grandchildren Jackson Powell, Major Powell, Sarenidy Powell, Tristen Powell, and Rayland Powell; brothers and sisters-in-law Tim and Becky Stringer of Marietta, and Corey and Marian Stringer of Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Solid Rock Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry Goss, the Rev. Kevin Holman, and the Rev. Charles Grant will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday prior to the service at Solid Rock Baptist Church.
