Loice Lorene Kendall

Obituary Date: Saturday, January 9, 2021

Loice Lorene Kendall, age 85, of Clermont passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Loice was born in Dahlonega, Georgia on March 20, 1935 in the Nimblewill Community.  Around the age of two the family moved to Kokomo, Indiana to find work during the depression years.  Loice’s dad worked at the steel mills and farmed.  Around the age of 10 she began to help with the farm chores by learning to milk the cows twice a day. 

Loice attended school and graduated in 1955 from Western High School in Kokomo, Indiana. In 1955, the family moved back to Dahlonega, Georgia and she attended Tallulah Falls College. Miss Kendall was a dedicated employee of Citizens Bank of Gainesville for over 40 years and she never missed a day of work.  She was a very thoughtful yet independent lady. 

Loice was a faithful member of Wahoo Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was dedicated and actively involved in teaching young people about Jesus Christ, The Savior, and each summer would fill her car with neighborhood children to take them to Bible School. She loved the Lord, her church and her friends. Loice toured The Holy Land twice with church friends, visiting not only The Holy Land, but several countries in Europe. 

She was the daughter of the late Reid F. Kendall and Maggie Berry Kendall and was also preceded in death by her brothers and sister-in-laws:  Gene (Ruby) Kendall, Kokomo Indiana, and Edward (Beverly) Kendall, Dahlonega, Georgia.  Sisters and brother-in-laws:  Edna (Lawrence) Jones, Lebanon, Indiana, and Edith (Dean)Wisehart , Douglasville, Georgia. Brother-in-law, Loyd Jones, Demorest Georgia.

She is survived by her sister Norma Jones, Demorest Georgia and brother and sister-in-law, Reid and June Kendall, Dahlonega, Georgia.  A host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and other relatives and friends also survive. Loice was loved by all who knew her. 

No public services are planned at this time, however a private family graveside service will be held with Reverend Tim Wisehart officiating.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  W.R. Strickland & Sons, Clermont, Ga.
