Obituary Date: Wednesday, January 13, 2021

Henry G Garner succumbed to the COVID Virus & went on to be with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on January 13, 2021

He was proceeded in death by his Father Noah O Garner of Detroit, Michigan; his Mother Eunice Imogene Raiden Garner Nash of Carrolton, GA; his brothers:  Donald Garner of Ackworth, GA & Samuel O Garner of Rex, GA; sister Dorothy Whitmire of Morrow, GA.  He is survived by his Wife, Patrice Garner of Cleveland, GA; Sister, Barbara Hobart of Locust Grove, GA; Sons Henry Lamar (Annette) Garner of Carrolton, GA; John (Melody) Garner of Oxford, GA; David (Sharyn) Garner of Alpharetta, GA.  Grandchildren:  Austin, Dustin, Rebekah, Matthew, Ashley, Josh, Brett, Jacob, & Andrew who all fondly referred to him as Grampy & one new great-grandson, Preston James Cole Garner; numerous nieces & nephews throughout Georgia

Henry was a strong man of God who was called at a young age into the music ministry.  He served in that capacity as a Minister of Music of several churches from the Texas Panhandle, Columbus, GA, & Lake City, Georgia.  He loved the Lord, Southern Gospel Music, his family, his church family, & was involved in many church ministries.   His favorite ministry was the Christian & Family Values Ministry that he & his wife, Pat started in Jonesboro First Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Dean Haun.  This ministry evolved and merged with the Ten Commandments Georgia Ministry which provided nine historical documents (which included the Ten Commandments) to be purchased & dedicated by individuals and placed back into the courthouses & public square.  These documents today can be found around the state in various courthouses, schools, & other public venues.  Some of the other ministries that Henry was involved in once he retired and moved to the North Georgia Mountains was the nursing home ministry which he faithfully served in until the COVID virus hit & they could no longer go into the nursing homes.

Henry was the owner operator of P & H Chemical Company for over 30 years and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was very proud of the time he was able to serve and was a real Patriot who loved his country.  He made it a priority to be involved in the political arena and know the politicians where he lived.  He was active in the social problems of the day and his loyalty, faithfulness, righteousness, and dedication will be missed by all who loved him.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Helen First Baptist Church. Pastor Jim Holmes will officiate.
