Lorene "Mammy" Pass Norris

Lorene “Mammy” Pass Norris age 84 of Gainesville entered heaven Saturday January 23, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Lorene was born in Atlanta on April 7, 1936 to the late Floyd & Victoria Smith Pass. She had worked in the poultry industry until she became a homemaker. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Norris; and great grandson, Brett Kerce.

Survivors include, sons, Michael (Tammy) Norris, Doug (Kathy) Norris; daughter, Sharon (Michael)Thomas; special caregiver whom Lorene looked upon as a daughter, Deborah Dyer; grandchildren, Karen (Jess) Hiatt, Bradley (Sonia) Norris, Brandy (Kevin) Gazaway, Tonya (Nathan) Strickland, James Michael (Haley) Norris, Amanda (Ron) Folkes & Matthew Norris; 17 great grandchildren & 5 great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday January 26, 2021 at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Norris officiating. Burial will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday January 25, 2021 at the funeral home.
