Dexter Ellis Jackson

Dexter Ellis Jackson, 53, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday January 20, 2020. 

Dexter Jackson was a very loving, caring, faithful son, father, uncle, and brother. God called him home suddenly on January 20, 2021.
 
Dexter was born on July 23, 1964 in Gainesville, Ga to Irena Jackson and the late Howard Mahaffey. He graduated from Gainesville High School. He went on to attend Barber Scotia College. He attended Emmanuel AME Church.
 
Dexter loved spending time with children and family; he also enjoyed outdoor recreation with his children. His hobbies were boating, wrestling, swimming, and working out. He always had a calm mild spirit with a beautiful smile. You could always find him peacefully watching movies or taking trips, listening to music while visiting family & friends.
 
He leaves to cherish his memory to his children Tawanna Jackson, Tawanna Ciera Jackson, Teko Jackson Jr., and stepchildren. Grandchildren Justin Hudson Jr., Ja’Cartier Hudson, Myriah Jackson, Janiya Jackson. Siblings Juanita (Robert Chandler) Jackson, Bernice (Larry) Mahaffey, Lavern (Freddy) Brown, Val Mahaffey, Debra Mahaffey, Dewight Jackson, Zell Jackson, Edward Jackson, Joseph Mahaffey, and Anthony Harris. Nieces & Nephews Aneka Jackson, Tara (Kirt) Granger, Paige Chandler, Zackary Chandler, Christopher Roundy, Serenity Cheeks, Tamijah Chandler, Zamaria Mendoza, Xochillt Mahaffey, El Salvador Mahaffey. Everyone adored Teko.

The visitation for Mr. Jackson will be Wednesday, January 27 at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 12-8pm. Mr. Jackson's Celebration of Life will be held Thursday January 28 at Memorial Park Cemetery at 1pm.
