Loy Alton Saine

Obituary Date: Wednesday, February 3, 2021

Mr. Loy Alton Saine, 82, of Murrayville, went home to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of February 3rd, 2021.  His final days earth-side were spent at his home – the very place he was born, right on the kitchen table – surrounded by his precious family telling stories, singing, and getting to hold his sweet, work-worn hands.  There is no other place he would have rather been than home.  His faith in the Lord granted him the peace that passes all understanding and was ready to go on to his true home to spend eternity.

Alton lived a rich, full and adventurous 82 years having served in the United States Army in Fort Chaffee Arkansas.  He worked for and retired from Purolator/Emery Worldwide, having seen what seems like nearly every bit of the great United States and could still tell you directions to anywhere, right from memory.  The past several years, he came out of retirement and had the joy of working at three trash compactor sites, where he got to meet and greet so many new and familiar faces.

He is preceded in death by his darling wife of 60 years, Mrs. Betty Sue Watson Saine, whom he loved dearly all of the days of his life.  His parents, Hubert and Dorothy Waters Saine, along with his brother Charlie Rayburn Saine and his sister Minnie Lee Saine, also preceded him in death.  His great grandson, Justus Teal Williams, was also there to greet him in Glory when he arrived.

Alton is Daddy to three children, of whom he was so very proud.  He is survived by his adoring eldest daughter, Angie Saine Williams and her husband Jeff; his sweet baby girl Tammy Saine Berry and her husband Chad; and his baby boy, Scott Saine and his girlfriend Marissa.

Along with his children, he is survived by four siblings and two brother in laws.  He is big brother to Jimmie Nell Saine Gunter, Eli Saine and his wife Elizabeth; Linda Saine Maddox and her husband Arlon; and Jeannie Saine Bryson and her husband Jimmy.  Also surviving are his brother in laws Phillip Watson and his wife Lynn, and Terry Watson and his wife Stacey.

Alton was blessed with a whole big bunch of grand and great grandchildren that he let shoot his guns, climb his trees, eat up his food, teach to love John Wayne, and call him Paw Paw.  They are all his buddies and he loves to watch them play sports or play his piano.  He is survived by his grandson Jeffrey Williams and his wife Jess, along with their sons Jonah and Jericho; Nick Williams and wife Kelsey; granddaughter Ashley Bonds and husband Dustin and sons Luke, Aaron, Judah and Elisha; granddaughter Hannah Turner and son Weston; and grandsons Montana and Hunter Saine.

He is also survived by his dearest and special friend, Marie Satterfield, along with so many other friends and family who loved him dearly.  He never met a stranger anywhere you might find him.

Our Alton, our Daddy, our Paw Paw and Pops – has made Heaven that much sweeter.
