Mary M. Hardnett 63 of Atlanta passed away Friday January 29th. 
On Friday, January 29. 2021, Mary Magalene Hardnett, loving mother of two daughters passed away at the age of 64. Mary was born on October 13, 1957 in Manchester, Georgia to the late Jeannie Mae Owens Hardnett and the late Albert Steed. Mary moved to Atlanta, Ga (Bluff) in the 60s where she attended English Avenue Elementary School, Central High, and Kennedy Middle School. She attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington class of 76. After graduating she attended nursing school and became a nurse in the early 80s. She worked at several hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation facility, and personal care homes. She became ill in 2013 which caused her to have to retire. Mary enjoyed cooking and won a blue ribbon when she attended high school. Mary was not just the life of the party she was the party. When she listened to music she would play a song over and over again. As a teenager she would go to the Chicken Coop on Simpson and turn it out dancing. Caring for people was her mission in life. She is survived by her two daughters Bridget and Tammy, two son-in-laws Marquis and Cedric, four grandchildren Shaniqua, Christopher, LaQuita and Cedric Jr, her Granddog Spencer, her sister Janice, two brothers Willie Lee and Willie Leonard, Aunt Leandy Prather, goddaughter Monica Gay A.K.A "Moneycake" and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews . Her Friday, February 5th, 2021 between the hours of 4-6pm at Willie Watkins Funeral Home Westend. Ms. Hardnett Celebration to Life will be held Saturday, February 6th at 1pm at Lincoln Cemetery. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
