Magaly Johnson

Mrs. Maggie Johnson, age 66, of Grayson, Georgia went to be with Jesus on February 11, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home in Flowery Branch, Georgia.

Maggie was born in Havana, Cuba on January 22, 1955 to the late Celso & Rosa Maria Martinez. She grew up in Hialeah, Florida and moved to Georgia in 1980 where she married Jeff Johnson and raised her daughter, Jennifer Kay Wessling. Maggie dedicated her life to serving children as an after-school counselor through the YMCA.  She was a devoted grandmother to Caleb and Ava Rose. Maggie was a beacon of strength for others and a loving wife to her husband, Jeff, for 39 faithful years of marriage. She enjoyed nurturing animals and had a great appreciation for nature’s beauty.  Above all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus and delighted in studying the word of God. 

Mrs. Maggie Johnson is survived by her husband, Jeff Johnson; Daughter & Son-in-Law, Jennifer Kay & Paul Wessling; Grandchildren, Caleb & Ava Rose Wessling; Son-in-Law’s Mother, Ruth Wessling; Sister and Brother-in-Law, Mercy & Tony Gonzalez; Sister and Brother-in-Law, Magda & Wayne Leigh; Sister-in-Law, Gloria Martinez; Brother-in-Law, Dennis Lee Johnson; Sister-in-Law, Patricia Elaine Johnson; Brother-in-Law, Richard Manuel Johnson; Sister-in-Law, Libby Jo Johnson; Brother-in-Law, Kevin Scott Savage; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Celso & Rosa Maria Martinez; Parents-in-Law Robert Eugene and Mary Vernice Savage; Son-in-Law’s father Mark Wessling; and her brother Carlos Miguel Martinez.
