Elizabeth “Betty” Louise DeBar

Obituary Date: Sunday, February 14, 2021

DeBar, Elizabeth “Betty”  Louise, age 84, formerly of Oakwood passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021. She was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and later moved to Richmond, Virginia where she raised three children with her husband Harry. The couple later moved to the Metro Atlanta area and eventually settled in Oakwood for the remainder of her days. She made a productive career as a mortgage loan originator. Betty loved to sew and garden throughout her life. Her greatest happiness was being with her four grandchildren and family. Her strongest character trait was her constant desire to help family and friends and put others before herself. She was a devout Christain who saw nothing but good in others and was always willing to lend a hand. Her love of country music, especially Alan Jackson, was always present in her life. She was survived by her three children Diane DeBar, Jeffrey DeBar and Karen DeBar Putzer and her four grandchildren Dane DeBar, Meredith DeBar, Payton Putzer and Madison Putzer. Her ashes will be laid to eternal rest with her husband Harry at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia in the Spring of 2021.
