Robert Lee Grizzle

Mr. Robert Lee Grizzle, age 84, of Suches, Georgia passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 after having been diagnosed with liver and lung cancer. Robert was born February 25, 1936 in Union County to the late Arthur (A.B.) and Lillian Grizzle. He was preceded in death by his brother Junior Grizzle and by his brother-in-law Homer Lee Anderson.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Annette and Joel Gooch of Suches, Georgia; daughter Tammy Grizzle of Dahlonega, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Jeanette Grizzle of Duluth, Georgia; sister Virginia Anderson of Cleveland, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law Reatha and Richard Lee of Woodstock, Georgia; grandchildren Chase and Dillon Grizzle, and Jacob, Amber, and Eli Gooch; great-grandchildren McKenzie Gooch, and Lane and Clara Grizzle.

Robert was a lifelong resident of Suches. He spent over thirty-five years farming and growing poultry. In his later years he enjoyed taking care of his cows, gardening, and keeping up his 80-acre farm. His real passions were weed eating and playing the lottery. Anyone driving by could see that Robert kept his farm looking remarkable. Even in his eighties he could be seen weed eating, riding the lawnmower, and cutting hay. Robert will be remembered for his kind, generous heart, his hard-working mentality, and his helpful demeanor. He was undoubtedly trustworthy, reliable, dependable, and a man of his word. Most of all, he was caring and loving and it could be seen without even so much as a spoken word. 

Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, February 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Souther officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and again on Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church (The Hill Church) Number 2 cemetery in Suches following the funeral.
