Shamiek “Mieke” Johnson

With deepest sorrow, we announce that our most beloved father, son, brother, family member, and friend, Shamiek “Mieke” Johnson (26) has transitioned on February 26, 2021. Shamiek was born November 6, 1994 in The Bronx, NY and relocated with his family to Buford, GA at the age of 11. During Shamiek’s early age he attended Glenn C. Jones Middle School and also attended Mill Creek High School.

Shamiek is survived by and will be dearly missed everyday by his parents Derrick and Sandra Johnson, his daughter Emilia Johnson, his siblings Garfield Cummings, Zayn Wangolo, Oneil Johnson, Obrien Johnson, Shawya Johnson, Camille Johnson, and many other family members.

Shamiek took pride in spending time with his family and made it known that they were always his first priority before anything. Shamiek was a hard-working man who was skilled in the arts of Insulation. When Shamiek had any spare time outside of work and being with his family, he truly enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid soccer player for the Atlanta Fire United Soccer Club. During his time on the team he accumulated a massive number of friends and many of them were accepted with open arms as if they were family. Jonathan & Johana Young, Alex Richards, Carlos Perez, Andy Nguyen, Khalim Riley, Kyle Johnson, Lucy Pallo, and Emily Harrell.

Shamiek was known to be the life of the party and lit up every room he ever stepped foot in with his bubbly personality. Those who knew Shamiek, even for a short time, lost a shining light in their lives but gained an angel to watch over them here on earth.

Shamiek joins in heaven his paternal grandparents Ethlyn and Egbert Johnson along with his maternal grandparents George Reid and Marcela Scott.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel.
