James D. Reece

Mr. James D. Reece, age 86, of Cumming, GA, passed away on March 12, 2021, after a brief illness.

He was born to the late Seaborn and Ella Reece and grew up in Rome, GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Odette Cummings Reece, and his brother, Armor H. Reece.

J.D. graduated from North Georgia College in 1958, and went on to serve as a captain in the United States Army. He loved to fish, play golf with his buddies, and most of all, spend time with his large family. The ones who knew him were blessed by his character, intellect, and strong will to live a fruitful and loving life.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Bowers (Eddie) of Cumming, Leslie Reece (Lisa) of Cumming, LeeAnn Reece of Jefferson, JD Reece, Jr. (Michelle) of Ellijay; sister, Jalaine Reece of Cumming, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 19, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Forsyth County Veterans Alliance.
