Rita N. Steele

Rita N. Steele, age 77, of Buford, GA passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald G. Cowsert; son, Jeffrey D. Hemple; first husband, David E. Hemple; and second husband, Richard L. Steele. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Hemple & Charlie Southerland, Buford, GA;  granddaughter, Lexie Brown; and niece, Sue & Ken Abbey. Mrs. Steele was born August 15, 1943 in Flint, MI. She was a graduate from Clio High School in Clio, MI. She was a retired claims processor from United Healthcare Insurance Company. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Buford and the Red Hat Society. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with  Rev. Jim Buckman officiating. Interment will follow at New Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
