Bonnie Jean Adkins Sauter

Bonnie Jean Adkins Sauter, age 73, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Lula and her son David Sauter.  

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Sauter, of Dahlonega; daughter Julie and her husband Michael Benna, of Gainesville, GA; along with her grandchildren Amber Donaldson, Hannah Culbertson, Otis Sauter, Emily Brooke Benna, Zac Benna; sisters Linda Sue Clark of Dahlonega, GA, and Linda Moorehead of Hebron, KY; daughter in law Aleve Douglas of Louisville, KY.; numerous other beloved friends, extended family, church members, and her sweet but a little overweight cat Lucy. 

Mrs. Sauter lived most of her life as a resident of Lumpkin County. Her career highlights included her work as a dispatcher for the City of Helen and other surrounding counties.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Dahlonega and was an amazing wife, mother, and friend. Bonnie enjoyed reading and traveling and most recently going on cruises with her husband.  Above all though, she loved and cherished her family. Her greatest joy was attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and celebrating their achievements.  She will be remembered as being their biggest fan.   

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Dahlonega Funeral Home. Her wishes were to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Judes Children’s Hospital in her honor.
