Heather May Bailey Brown

Heather May Bailey Brown age 91 of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 2:00PM in Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Laura Davis officiating.

Mrs. Brown was born December 8, 1929 in London, England to Fred and Claudia Barrett Bailey. At an early age, her interest for ballet dancing flourished graduating from the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, Ltd in London.  Following her graduation she danced professionally for the Royal Academy of Ballet as a Prima Ballerina dancing before King George V and Queen Mary.  Mrs. Brown also appeared in a few movies including Goodbye Mr. Chips the original version.  Eventually meeting her husband Joseph E. Brown, Jr. of Atlanta, Mrs. Brown started teaching and sharing her vast knowledge and love for ballet to hundreds of students until her early 80’s. Mrs. Brown was of the Episcopalian faith and was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joseph Emerson Brown, Jr.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Richard Evarts; son, Joseph Brown, III; grandchildren, Casey and Chris Helms; Richard and Rose Evarts; Autumn, Amber, April, Ashley, Arin, Andrew, Amanda, AJ and Greyson Brown; and a great-grandson, Caden Helms.
