Shirley Aline Emmett Grant

Shirley Aline Emmett Grant, 83, of Gainesville passed away Monday, March 29, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  and on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. 

Born on May 6, 1937 in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late William David and Essie Maebelle Ledford Cook. She was a homemaker and a member of Northlake Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grant is preceded in death by her husbands, Franklin Garner Emmett, Sr. and Jerry Grant, Sr.; daughter, Connie Green; son, Daniel Garner Emmett, Sr.; grandson, Daniel Garner Emmett, Jr.; and a number of brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Grant is survived by her son and daughter in law, David and Sandy Emmett; daughter and son in law, Donna and Todd McMillan; daughter, Starla Browning; sons and daughters in law, Bo and Lora Emmett, Jeff and Tammy Emmett; daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Jeff White; son, Junior Grant; 23 grandchildren, a multitude of great and great-great grandchildren; sister, Joan Townsend and several nieces and nephews.
