Lawrence G. Freeman

Obituary Date: Tuesday, April 6, 2021

Lawrence G. Freeman born in White County Ga. May 9, 1926 to Charlie E. and Nellie Mae Freeman peacefully passed away April 6, 2021 at home. He is welcomed into heaven by his wife of 70 years, Dorthy, who received her wings March 27, 2021.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Cyndi Freeman, his siblings, Charlie Mae Glaze, Frances Barrett, J.B. Freeman, Truman Freeman, Jesse Freeman, Corene Freeman, Anna Lee Reese, Maureen London, Lucille Tomlin, Jennie Loggins, Russell Freeman, and Hubert Freeman.

Survivors include Sons and Daughters-in-law Gregory and Glenda Freeman of Dawsonville, Terry Freeman of Winston-Salem, NC, and Rick and Paula Freeman of Dunwoody. Surviving grandchildren are Emily (Robbie) Reed of Austin, Tx., Hollis (Michael) Reardon of Houston, Tx., Anice (Jonathan) Watson of Knoxville, Tn., Christopher (Nicki) Freeman of Charlotte, NC and Wren Freeman of Bryson City, NC. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Betsy and Mollie Reed, Grayson and Olivia Freeman, and Archie Joe Watson.

Also surviving are sister, Florene Shore, and sister-in-law, Barbara Freeman, and many nieces and nephews. He loved all his family.

Lawrence graduated from White County High School in Cleveland, Ga. He served our country during WWII as a Corporal in the Army. After his Honorable Discharge, he continued his education at the University of Ga and Perry Business College.

He was the Purchasing Agent for Gainesville Milling Company for many years. He also worked for Marell Poultry Co. for many years and eventually retired from Fieldale.

Lawrence was a long time member of First Baptist Church where he taught boys Sunday School, served as a Deacon for many years, sang in the Church Choir and supported the Boy Scout Troop 26.

He was a great father to his sons. We love and miss you and Mom.

The family will have a private graveside service at Memorial Park.
