Walter Thomas “Tommy” Whitehead

Mr. Walter Thomas “Tommy” Whitehead, age 78, of Nicholson, GA died Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Piedmont Athens.  Mr. Whitehead was born in Nicholson to the late Charles and Maggie Lord Hardy.  He was a member of River of Life Worship Center.  Mr. Whitehead was a United States Army and Vietnam veteran.  He was retired from Roper Pump.

Mr. Whitehead is survived by his wife, Sara Jo Carey Whitehead of Nicholson; daughter, Lynn Barrett of Jefferson; sons, Shane Whitehead of Nicholson and Chris Whitehead of Maysville; sister, Rhonda Gosnell of Nicholson; brother, Andy Hardy of Hull; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM, Wednesday, April 21 at River of Life Worship Center with Rev. Jonathan English, Rev. Marty Smith and Rev. Ronald Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow in Nicholson Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at River of Life from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday.
