Richard Barrett

Mr. Richard Barrett, age 85, of Hull passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at his residence.  Mr. Barrett was born in Lula to the late, Frank and Beulah Savage Barrett.  Mr. Barrett was retired from Madison County Road Department, a member of Little Country Church, and was a US Army veteran.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Barrett was also preceded in death by his sons, Wayne and Steve Barrett; and brothers, Bobby and Willis Barrett.

Mr. Barrett is survived by his wife, Lula Virginia Elrod Barrett of Hull; daughter, Melissa McDaniel of Hull; son, Doug Barrett of Hull; brother, Johnny Barrett of Macon; sisters, Nizzie Mae Barrett of Commerce, Judy Baxter of Hull, Mary Lou Wynn of Hull, Betty Bennett of Helen, and Birdie Bagwell of Commerce.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Friday, April 30^th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Swayne Cochran and Rev. Austin McDaniel officiating with the interment following at Grey Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 5-8 PM.
