Dalton Jewell Williams, age 16, of Cornelia, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021.
Dalton was born on July 23, 2004, in Gainesville and was a sophomore at Habersham Central High School. In his short life, he enjoyed fishing, cars, and traveling to new places as well as photography and capturing the beauty of sunrises. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Dalton was a member of Hillside Baptist Church and a believer who spoke about his salvation often.
Those he leaves behind to cherish memories are his father and stepmother, Corey and Wendy Williams of Cornelia; mother, Kristin Mathis Darnell of Cumming; sisters, Peyton Williams of Cornelia and Sophia Darnell of Dahlonega; paternal grandparents, Danny and Katie Williams of Cornelia; maternal grandparents, Jill and Ricky Mathis of Cumming; great-grandfather, Gary French of Tallassee, AL; aunts and uncles, Casey and Tara Wilson and Dusty and Candace Mathis; cousins: Kasen, Jacksen, Jonas, and Tatum Wilson and Caden and Emmalyn Mathis; and many friends and extended family.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Hillside Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Ross and Rev. Dusty Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
The service will be livestreamed on McGahee-Griffin & Stewart’s Facebook page for those unable to attend the service.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 pm on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home.
