Hurvey William Davis, Sr.

Mr. Hurvey William Davis, Sr. 73, of Gainesville passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 in the chapel of Memorial Park funeral Home. Rev. Dustin Ledford will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, May 7th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on April 23, 1948 in Blairsville, he was the son of the late William Finley Davis and the late Addie Mae Towe Davis. He was self-employed as a logger and a member of Soldiers of Truth Church. Mr. Davis was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his wives, Priscilla Coffey, Mary Davis; son, Gene Greenway; sisters, Ida Mae Hedding, Jeanette McConnell and brother, Bud Davis.

Mr. Davis survived by his wife, Deborah McDonald Davis of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Hurvey and Angel Davis, Jr. of Lawrenceville; daughters and sons in law, Michelle and Tracy Grimes of Gainesville, LeAnn and Eric Spangler of Lawrenceville; son and daughter in law, Jason and Dawn Greenway of Clermont; daughters and sons in law, Jessica and Dallas Bright of Gainesville, Melissa and Haine Bennett of Cumming; sister, Clara Nix of Chatsworth and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
