Jimmy Lee Lewallen

Obituary Date: Friday, May 28, 2021

Mr. Jimmy Lee Lewallen passed peacefully into the presence of His Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, on May 27, 2021. Jimmy was born in Lula, Georgia on July 24, 1934, to William Jasper Lewallen and Mary Blanche Saxon Lewallen. Jimmy had an exemplary work ethic throughout his lifetime. He was a talented man with innate engineering gifts. After high school graduation, Jimmy began Lewallen Wrecker, Paint and Body Shop. He was known for his honesty, integrity, service, and gentlemanly manner. Jimmy was compassionate and shared his trade to influence the life of more than one employee. Both of his grandsons will cherish the skills he taught them as well. In his golden years, Jimmy continued his business, Lewallen Storage, as not only a source of income but also as a service to his community.

            Jimmy was a deacon for many years at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Until his health began to decline, he loved greeting and welcoming people as a member of Christ Place Church.

Jimmy enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting, playing softball, and training beagle puppies.He listened to county and gospel music every day.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Reed Lewallen. On June 14, 1975, Jimmy married Virginia Pethel Sigers Lewallen and gained two daughters in love, Kathy Sigers Jones (David) and Pamela Karen Sigers of Gainesville, Georgia. The joy of Jimmy’s life was his grandchildren Emily Renee Jones of Gainesville, Daniel Christopher Jones (Jill) of Cumming, GA, and Andrew Jonathan Sigers Jones (Abbie) of Dahlonega, GA. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren Matthew Patrick Jones and Kathryn Faith Jones. His great grandchildren, Dalton Bennett Jones, Finley Katherine Jones, and Hallie Ann Jones were his sunshine.

            Jimmy was a faithful friend and brother. He was preceded in death by his brother Garland Lewallen; brother in law, Roy Thomas; and sister in law, Carolyn Lewallen.

            Surviving are brothers Marvin Lewallen (Joyce), Bobby Lewallen, Danny Lewallen (Peggy), David Lewallen (Shelby), Sister Winnie Thomas, sister in law Reba Lewallen, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday May 30, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Drewery Loggins will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday May 30, 2021 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

            Pop lived a Christ honoring life, fought the good fight, and finished the course as a good and faithful servant. What memories we have made and we look forward to a great Reunion Day! The family requests donations to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice, 770-219-8888 in lieu of flowers.
