Dora Ann (Ann) Appleby

Dora Ann Appleby (Ann) was born on April 11,1954 to the late Mrs. Annie Ruth Dukes Jones and Mr. Clyde Jones, Jr. She received her heavenly wings on Sunday, May 30, 2021. She was preceded in death by her sister Cheryl Denise Sims, and two brothers, Clyde Harvey Jones, Clinton Jones. Ann was a lifelong resident of Jefferson, Ga She joined the St. Paul First Baptist Church, Jefferson, Ga at an early age, where she served faithfully for many years in the missionary society and adult choir. She worked for many years as a seamstress for Lyons Textile Mill in Jefferson, Ga. Later, she was employed by and was proud to work as an electronics assembler for Mitsubishi Consumer Electronics in Braselton, Ga. Finally, she was employed by Jefferson City Schools, where she enjoyed working with the youth. Ann was a beautiful woman with a sweet spirit. Her family was her cornerstone, particularly her daughter and grandchildren. In her spare time, Ann also enjoyed arts and crafts and sewing. She leaves to cherish her memories, a beloved daughter, Ericka (Marvin) Johnson; three grandchildren whom she treasured, Marcayla Hester, Leah Johnson, and Dorian Johnson; two sisters, Carol (Al) Clark, Athens, Ga, and Barbara Ann White, Gainesville, Ga: one sister-in- law, Tammy Jones, Dacula, Ga and one brother-in-law, Mike Sims, Jefferson, Ga. Ann had several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that she loved and cherished.
The visitation for Mrs. Ann will be Thursday, June 3rd at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 12-8pm. Mrs. Ann's Celebration of Life will be held at Jackson Memorial in Commerce at the hour of 1pm. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home,
