Beatrice Georgia Wheeler Hailey

Obituary Date: Wednesday, June 9, 2021
Beatrice Georgia Wheeler Hailey transitioned to her Heavenly home on June 9, 2021, at the NEGMC Gainesville Ga.  Beatrice was born September 15, 1919, in Carnesville (Franklin County) Georgia the 7th of Nine Children born to the late Tom and Susie Wheeler.  She was affectionately known as Momma Bea/BeaBea.   Momma Bea lived 1 Century 10 Decades 101 Years 1220 Months 37,162 Days.  Beatrice attended Union Grove Church School in Carnesville. Ga.  She moved to Gainesville Ga in 1932. On October 3,1932 she married the late Paul Cecil Hailey.
 
She was very active in her community an especially a Grade Mother at Fair Street School providing food and support to her children, teachers, staff, and students. She loved the lord and loved to sing gospel music, singing with the Note Singers, Gainesville Mass Choir as well as Singing with her Husband traveling all over North Ga. She was a member of the Original Prayer Band in the 1960’s. She worked as a Housekeeper for many years for the Ghent Family before becoming a Cook and Teacher’s Assistant at First Presbyterian Day Care Center.  She Worked at First Baptist Church on Green Street serving Wednesday night dinner.  She was a care giver to her Parents, sister, brother, and others throughout the community.
 
She was an excellent cook making meals for her family and neighbors. She sold cakes, sweet potato pies, fluffy yeast rolls and Candy Apples to raise money for the church.
 
 
She was a member of the Senior Life Center (over 25 Years), Sunshine Seniors and Faithful member of St John Baptist Church singing in the Senior choir. She loved to sing and dance. She was full of joy and laughter with a great sense of humor always speaking her mind.
 
 
 
Beatrice was proceeded in death by her parents Tom and Susie Wheeler.  Her Husband of 57 Years Paul Cecil Hailey. 1 Son Roderick Hailey, 2 Grandsons Thomas Hailey II and James (Jamie) Evans II. Her siblings
 
Rufus(Ollie/Wille Mae) Wheeler, Tolman (Mattie)Wheeler, L. D. Wheeler, Collis (Edna) Wheeler. Ossie (Calvin) Jackson, Annie Mae(Will) Ayers, Alberta(Ted) Merritt, Audrey(Edward) Glenn.
 
 
 
Momma Bea leaves to cherish her loving memories 3 Sons Edwin(Elmira) Wheeler, Thomas Hailey, Kenneth Hailey. 3 Daughters Belinda (Charles) Dickey, Joycelyn (Kenny) Glasper, Gloria (James) Evans. 2 Brother-In-Laws Sidney (Grace) Hailey, William (Eva) Hailey. 20 grandchildren, 46 Great grandchildren, 23 great great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews, Wheeler Payne and Hailey Reunions Family Members, Tuesday sitters Rev. Juanita Jackson, Phenoris & Shirley Harris, Diane Williams, Telephone Friends Virginia William, Evelyn Jackson and Celestine Bailey and a Community of Friends.
 
The Visitation will be held Saturday June 12, 2021, at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 12-7pm. The family will receive visitors between the hours of 5-7pm. The Celebration of Life will be held Sunday June 13, 2021, at St. John Baptist Church at the hour of 3pm. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
