Leland Thomas Hall

Obituary Date: Saturday, June 19, 2021

Leland Thomas Hall, ever-faithful follower of Christ and resident of Cumming, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 19, 2021. His unexpected passing leaves a wave of cherished memories flowing through the heavy hearts of countless people whose lives were dearly touched by his presence, his kinship, and his genuine fellowship.

Born on January 12, 1954, to his dear parents, Okol and Marie Hall, Tom was raised in the warmth and hospitality of Savannah, Georgia. In 1972, Tom began his studies at the University of Georgia where he met the love of his life, Kathy Tabakian. They promised forever to each other on July 16, 1977, and lived the vows of marriage in true love, deep admiration, and gentle respect for one another for the next 43 years.

In time, Tom and Kathy brought two precious daughters into the world, and Tom filled the shoes of both husband and father with exceptional attentiveness and care. Stephanie (Hall) Kitchen and Natalie (Hall) Bolton grew up surrounded in love and compassion, doted upon by their parents and naturally inheriting his character of helping others. As their girls began families of their own, Tom found his favorite role in becoming a grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren, who were the absolute light and joy in his life. Known affectionately to them as BeBah, he will be cherished forever in the memories of Aden Grace, Ella, Avery Jane, Juliana and Everett Kitchen, and Madeline Kate Bolton.

To Tom, family was everything. He harbored such a generous spirit, extending the same to his professional life. In September of 2010, Tom founded Resurgent Performance to live out his zeal for improving community bank performance. He served as CEO and Transformational Change Leader since launching the company and earned his well-deserved reputation as a leading bank turnaround expert. Before founding RPI, Tom held high level advisory positions at revered financial companies including Cornerstone Advisors., Brintech, Earnings Performance Group, and U.S. Bank Alliance. He worked with banks in 47 states and a half-dozen countries abroad, but his greatest professional legacy is in his gift for connecting with people and helping them achieve their goals.

Known to his clients as L.T., Tom was a trusted advisor who approached his career with extensive banking knowledge, an upbeat spirit, and a sincere sense of humor. He delighted in becoming known as the “Money Man,” always excited to offer counsel and support for the banking industry and always encouraging others, be they associates, family members, friends at the gym, or anyone else who sought financial guidance. He was a positive influence on the careers and lives of all who sought his advice, served with grace as a mentor and supervisor to many, and carried himself as a gentleman of noble character and generous resolve.

Tom will be especially remembered for sharing his time, his money, his knowledge, and his heart. He was particularly fond of sunrises at the beach and God’s great glory in nature. God knitted the young boy from Savannah together with the heart of a helper and the spirit of a teacher, and he spent a lifetime fulfilling those callings. He was a dedicated member of North Point Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, and served as a mentor in the Renew program, which provides fellowship and guidance for those who may be struggling to find a fulfilling path in their lives. Tom let his God-given gifts shine in helping others seek their purpose under God’s great plan, and every time, he took joy in doing so.

Paul’s poignant letter to the Philippians strengthens us all, and in chapter 4 verse 6, he instructs, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Tom lived by that level of discipline and perseverance, and his life was a testimony to his respect for the Lord, and a lasting example to those he leaves behind. He was a leader for God’s glory here on earth, and his good and faithful works were completed with love for all people. May we all find comfort in the treasures of our memories of Tom and the gift of his life and unwavering friendship. May we not be anxious in our great loss, but thankful in heaven’s gain, and above all, may we meet again.

If there is happiness in your heart as you remember Leland Thomas Hall, it would be to the family’s great honor that you might consider donating to the MoneyWise program through North Point Church, in memory of Tom’s passion for the world of finance and helping others succeed both financially and personally. Please make checks payable to North Point Church and include “Moneywise/Care Program - In memory of L.T. Tom Hall” in the memo line.

Visitation with the family will be this Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 4pm-6pm at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia. The funeral will be held at 2pm this Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Bethany Primitive Baptist Church in Suwanee, Georgia, followed by a graveside service at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
