John Terry Heard

John Terry Heard, age 62, of Jefferson, GA and formerly of Buford, GA went to his heavenly home on July 23, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Winton Heard, his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Truman Heard and Mr. & Mrs. Mack Moore.

John is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lou Ellen Heard, sons, James Bradley Heard (Amber) of Buford, GA, Jason Daniel Heard of Jefferson, GA.

He was the best Papa to Chloe, Addison, Carter and Wyatt Heard. Papa was the keeper of the candy jar and a master chess player. He passed on his chess playing ability to Carter and Wyatt but never let them win.

He is also survived by his mother, Dovie Heard, Loganville, GA, father-in-law, Wendell Nichelson (Janie), Rydal, GA, sister, Julie Pugh (Danny) of Buford, GA, sister-in-law, Laurie Morrison (Bill) of Gainesville, GA, brother-in-law, Terry Edwards (Jenie) of Winder, GA, also a host of aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews all of whom have their own Uncle Terry memories to cherish the rest of their lives.

Mr. Heard was born January 18, 1959 in Buford, GA. He was a general contractor for most of his working career, Building custom homes thru out Greater Atlanta and surrounding areas. He also owned and operated his tree removal business for a number of years.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
