Barbara Annette Gipson

Mrs. Barbara Annette Gipson, age 77, of Carnesville, GA died Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart.

She was born September 27, 1943, the daughter of the late William and Lorine Walls.  Mrs. Gipson was a member of Bethel Holiness Church and was retired from the Madison County School System.  Her passion was going to church, camping and going to her children’s singings.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Gipson; brother, Larry Walls; and three sisters, Dianne Bishop, Joyce Huff and Helen Bond.

Mrs. Gipson is survived by her son, Tracy Gipson (Margaret) of Carnesville; daughter, Chanda Simonson (Bret) of Toccoa; son, Mark Gipson (Kayla) of Bogart; grandchildren, Rebecca Sellers (Cody), Jared Gipson, Gavin Gipson and Ella Grace Gipson; great-grandchildren, Lana Kate Sellers, Laylee Sellers and Laykin Sellers; sister, Deborah Riddleberger of Jefferson; and brothers, David Walls and Eugene Walls both of Hull.

Funeral services will be at Bethel Holiness Church with Rev. Eugene Walls, Rev. Curt Phillips and Rev. Scott Alexander officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 8 PM.  Due to the recent increase in covid, the family has asked that mask and social distancing be required.    Serving as pallbearers will be Jared Gipson, Trent Holman, Gavin Gipson, Lamar Bond, Adam Bishop, Cody Sellers, Brett Simonson and Rodney Baker.
