Bettye Kirkland Chambers

Bettye Kirkland Chambers, 89, of Buford, GA, died Saturday, August 21, 2021. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dr. Steven Ursy will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 12 – 2 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the American Heart Association, in memory of Bettye. Bettye was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Chambers. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Chris Hoover, Sugar Hill; grandsons, Michael Hoover, and Joey Hoover and wife Laura May Hall; nieces and nephews, Tom Brockbank, Janie Brockbank, and Debbie Verlander. Bettye was born in DeFunaik Springs, FL and had lived in the metro Atlanta area since 1975. She was a teacher, retired from DeKalb County Schools and was a member of the Buford First United Methodist Church. Bettye was a member of the Hall County Republican Women, Georgia Republican Party, Georgia 9^th District GOP, and the National Federation of Republican Women.
