Rodney Charles Benefield

Mr. Rodney Charles Benefield age 48 of Flowery Branch, Ga passed away on Thursday August 26, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center- Braselton, Ga.

          Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday August 29, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Zack Williams and Rev. Ron Cope will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday August 28, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

          Rodney was born on July 22, 1973 in Gainesville, Ga to Charles Larry Benefield and Linda Bowen DeFoor. He worked as a machine operator for SKF in Gainesville, Ga and was of the Baptist Faith. He attended Macedonia Baptist Church. Rodney was a wonderful father to his kids. He was a world champion GO- Kart racer and short track racer. He was his father’s best friend. Rodney would always say to his father- I love you Pop you are my best friend.  Rodney is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Larry Benefield.

          Rodney is survived by his son, Alex Rodney Benefield of Winder, daughter, Sarah Grace Benefield of Winder, father and special companion, Charles Benefield and Nancy Howington of Flowery Branch, mother and step-father, Linda DeFoor and Bruce DeFoor of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, sister, Carol Benefield Simpson of Lula, Ga little sister, Britney Simpson of Hoschton, Ga and a number of uncles and relatives also survive.
