Charles Edward Lackey

Charles Edward Lackey, age 84, of Cumming, GA passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. He was born in 1937, to the late Luke and Eunice Lackey. Charles was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. He was a proud United States Navy veteran. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and watching Judge Judy, racing, and wrestling shows. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend to many. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Darlene Lackey; and siblings, James Lackey and Helen Pettit.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Fairy Lackey; children, Dana (Rev. Jimmy) Payne, Penny (Dennis) Grindle, and Kristy (Lee) Samples; sister, Jeanette Reeves; grandchildren, Darrell (Brittany) Payne, Breana (Jake) Wise, Cody (Taylor) Samples, Chelsea Samples, and Tasha (Nick) Barnes; great grandchildren, Paisley Payne, Parker James Samples, Grayson Scott Barnes, and Arthur Ryan Wise; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA with Rev. Craig Richard, Rev. George Sams, and Rev. Jimmy Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.
