Cathy Diane Griffin Ray

Mrs. Cathy Diane Griffin Ray, age 63 of Persimmon Street, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A daughter of Jean Fowler Griffin and the late Roy Lee Griffin, Sr., she was born October 3, 1957 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life.  She was employed with Two Day Design for a number of years and was of the Baptist faith.  She was a loving mother to her nieces and nephews.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Ray and by two brothers, Roy Lee Griffin, Jr. and Daniel Griffin.

Survivors include her mother, Jean Fowler Griffin of Toccoa; sisters, Mary Setren and Clara Wilbanks both of Toccoa; brother, James Griffin, Sr. of Toccoa; sister-in-law, Cindy Griffin; a number of nieces and nephews.                                                                   

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 7, 2021, 11 O’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Dorsey Holmes officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Paul Barrells, James Griffin, Jr., Allen Griffin, Randy Edmonds, Nathan O’Barr, Anthony Charles and Travis Long. 

The family will be at 97 Richardson Street, Toccoa and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Due to the health and well-being of the community, masks are encouraged during the visitation and service.

Interment will follow in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Cathy Diane Griffin Ray.
