William Jewel Nix

Mr. William Jewel Nix, 83, of Maysville, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Earl Pirkle will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Born on October 13, 1937 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late William A. Nix and the late Dessie Stargel Nix. He owned and operated Jewel Nix Grocery for 32 years and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Nix is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Freeman Nix; and sister, Carolyn Parks.

Mr. Nix is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Debra and Gary Gee of Gillsville, Patty and Ron Roberts of Maysville, Jenna Grice (Joel Buffington) of Gillsville; grandchildren, Sheri Skelton (Todd), Timmy Gee (Brooke), Keri Turner (Matt), Bailey Grice, Jay Grice, Kinsey Grice; great grandchildren, Spencer Skelton, Samuel Skelton, Trent Gee, Sawyer Skelton; Luke Turner and a number of other loving relatives.
