Royce F. Bennett

Royce F. Bennett, 78, of Dahlonega passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021.

Born November 22, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late Lee and Maggie Cantrell Bennett, he had lived in Lumpkin County for the past 26 years having moved from Hall County.  Royce worked 28 years in Highrise Commercial Construction.  He enjoyed golf, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.  A member of Salem Baptist Church, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Emma Jean Roper, Eulene Gazaway, Sarah Wilson, Opal Pugh, Marell Smith, and Ethell Bennett.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Hilda C. Bennett, Dahlonega; children, Stephanie and Jay McNair, Gainesville, Stephen Bennett, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Mason McNair, Rachel McNair, Maggie McNair; great grandchildren, Bennett McNair, Addison James “A.J.” McNair; sister and brother in law, Linda and Tyson Gittens, Gainesville; brothers and sisters in law, Pierce and Betty Bennett, Gainesville, Loyte and Gay Bennett, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Donnie Nix will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 and again on Tuesday from 11 until 1 at the funeral home.

Due to the current influence of COVID-19, the family respectfully requests that everyone practice social distancing and wear a mask.
