Larry Ted Bishop, 83 of Dawsonville, GA passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Dawsonville, GA to the late Roy Lee and Ina Bishop. Ted was a member of Juno Baptist Church, Dawsonville, GA where he was Chairman of the Deacons. He loved to play the guitar and mandolin for the youth choir. He also loved to pass on his love for the instruments by teaching many children to play. Ted loved to serve the Lord and loved his church family. He was an avid gardener and loved feeding, watching and studying hummingbirds. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, David and Carole Bishop and Glenn Bishop.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lois Bishop of Dawsonville, GA; children, Kathy and Greg Rouse of Daniel, WY, Gail and Lee Lowman of Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Cheryl and Matthew Chittick, Dustin Lowman, Clay and Alex Lowman; great grandchildren, Maddy, Eli, Aubree, Olivia, Blair; brother, Donal and Joan Bishop of Dawsonville, GA; sister, Dianne and Frank Bishop-Ruprecht of Cherry Log, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel, Dawsonville, GA with the Reverends, Brody Hughes, Tommy Weldy, and Tim Biddy officiating. Interment will follow the service at Juno Baptist Church Cemetery, Dawsonville, GA.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 6-8 p.m. and again on Monday from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Juno Baptist Church Youth Group.
