William Taylor Cantrell

Obituary Date: Friday, October 1, 2021

Mr. William Taylor Cantrell, 78, of Pendergrass, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Ivester will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Born on August 13, 1943 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late James Oscar and Nicey Jane Morrison Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell was retired from AT&T where he was a lineman. He was a member of Free Chapel.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cantrell is preceded in death by his son, William Taylor (Buck) Cantrell II and sisters, Laverne Martin and Vivian Callahan Grimes.

Mr. Cantrell is survived by his wife, Linda Joy Cantrell of Pendergrass; daughter, Joy Cantrell Shafer of Commerce; son, Shanon Cantrell of Pendergrass; brother, James Cantrell of Clermont; sisters, Oma Millwood of Gainesville, Zonell Davis of Gainesville, Sue Smith of Athens, Lenora Roper of Gainesville; grandchildren, Leighann Monetta, Allison Propes, Matthew Cantrell, Emily Cantrell; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Cook, Dalton "Bo" Cook, Taelynn Propes, Paisley Propes and a number of other loving relatives.
