Fred Ernest Frady

Mr. Fred Ernest Frady, 94, of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at his residence following a brief illness.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Stephen Wood will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Born on March 28, 1927 in Clayton, GA, he was the son of the late Cana Albert Frady and the late Girlie Marie Dodd Frady. Mr. Frady was a member of Pine Crest Baptist church for 50 + years. He was a Mason in the Masonic lodge in Gainesville. He served in the military during World War II serving in the United States Marine Corp. He moved his family to Oakwood in 1966 to be one of the first instructors at Lanier Technical School; he taught machine tool and die, a profession he loved and continued to work actively after his retirement at Frady Machine Shop.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Frady is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Ruth Bellamy Frady.

Mr. Frady is survived by his children, Brenda Ruth Good of Dawsonville, Katie Lynn Lee of Maryville, TN, Stanley Lee Frady and wife Patti of Gainesville; grandsons, Derek Brandon Lee (Rachel) of Corryton, TN, Joel Bernard (Cara) of Raleigh, NC, Dustin Brett Lee (Jena) of Knoxville, TN; his first great grandson is due in February 2022; sisters, Christine Williams, Dorothy Wynn, Joyce McLear and a number of other loving relatives.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Sherry’s Comfort Care and all other caregivers who lovingly cared for him during his last days.
