Mildred L. Keller, 79, of Canton, passed away Sunday October 3, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.
Born in Alpharetta on January 18, 1942, Mildred was raised in Cabbagetown in Atlanta and lived in Forest Park before moving to Canton where she spent the past three years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Atlanta. Mildred enjoyed listening to The Gaithers and watching the Golden Girls. She spent her career working with Comcast for 20 years until her retirement. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mildred was devoted to her grandchildren most of all and spent her retirement years helping to raise them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Joseph Hood; husband, Hugh Keller; and siblings, Margaret Cook, Dot Wade, Billy Hood, Ted Hood, T.L. Hood, Wilburn Hood, Frankie Hood.
Surviving are her children, Allen (Lisa) Keller of Dacula, Windy Keller of Canton, Adam (Olivia) Keller of Gainesville; 19 grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Meg Hunt-Williams will officiate. Entombment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park at 2:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday October 6 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
